Ivan Spurio Venarucci
This study examines the theme of suicide in Seneca, analyzing all relevant passages from his prose works. Adopting a rhetorical and pragmatic approach, it treats the texts as communicative acts within a multifaceted debate—both philosophical and historical-political—set against the backdrop of the Julio-Claudian era, when the choice between life and mors voluntaria was a pressing and controversial issue.
