L’ouvrage présente à destination du grand public cultivé les fouilles de la cité de Phanagoria dans ses différents aspects : ville, territoire rural, nécropole, numismatique, épigraphie, zooarchéologie, anthropologie, restauration des objets… Il offre une bonne mise au point introductive sur cette cité de la partie orientale du Bosphore cimmérien.
Les illustrations en couleur sont très nombreuses.

Réalisée par le Service d'Histoire de la santé de la Bibliothèque interuniversitaire de santé, la collection Medic@ (ISSN : 1164-8678) réédite, sous forme électronique accessible gratuitement en ligne, des documents anciens appartenant pour la plupart au fonds de la bibliothèque : monographies, thèses, articles, périodiques, manuscrits.
Medic@ signale aussi plus de 130 000 documents provenant d'autres bibliothèques numériques.
Medic@ est structurée en séries, subdivisées en dossiers
- Le Corpus des médecins de l’Antiquité publie les éditions majeures des auteurs anciens (Hippocrate, Galien, Oribase...) établies depuis la Renaissance jusqu’au 19e siècle et possédées par la BIU Santé.
- La série Médecine du Moyen-Age regroupe des ouvrages écrits à l'époque médiévale.
- La série Médecins et savants regroupe des dossiers monographiques consacrés aux œuvres de personnalités remarquables.
- La série Epidémies, maux et maladies contient des dossiers consacrés à des pathologies ou des maux.
- La série Histoire de la médecine et de ses institutions est consacrée aux ouvrages d’histoire ou à des sources concernant les institutions de la médecine.
- La série Varia regroupe des ensembles de documents par type ou par éditeur.
- La série Références rassemble des documents de référence, structurés de façon à faciliter l’accès rapide aux informations. Ainsi, les dictionnaires sont organisés de façon à permettre, en une seule requête, de consulter toutes les entrées pertinentes de tous les dictionnaires proposés.
- La série Pharmacie contient des dossiers qui concernent la pharmacie.
À côté de ces séries...
- La rubrique La médecine il y a 100 ans propose chaque année un dossier consacré à l’actualité de la médecine un siècle plus tôt.
- La rubrique Nouvelles acquisitions patrimoniales présente les documents notables récemment entrés à la BIU Santé, qu’ils aient ou non été numérisés intégralement.

Eight More Antiquity Related Journals in JSTOR
With the release of JSTOR Arts & Sciences XV "the capstone of the JSTOR Arts & Sciences Collection" this spring, I am reviewing all titles currently available, to ensure thorough coverage in AWOL's The Ancient World in JSTOR. Earlier this week I added six more Brill journals to the list, and I now have another eight titles. Individuals without institutional access to JSTOR are reminded that they can get access via JSTOR's Register & Read program. Some JSTOR titles are also available in whole or in part in open access formats, so it is always worthwhile checking in AWOL's full List of Open Access Journals in Ancient Studies.

The Cult of Saints: A research project on the Cult of Saints from its origins to circa AD 700, across the entire Christian world
The Cult of Saints is a major five-year project, based at the Faculty of History at the University of Oxford and funded by an Advanced Grant from the European Research Council, which will investigate the origins and development of the cult of Christian saints in Late Antiquity.
The project, which launched in January 2014, will map the cult of saints as a system of beliefs and practices in its earliest and most fluid form, from its origins until around AD 700 (by which date most cult practices were firmly established): the evolution from honouring the memory of martyrs, to their veneration as intercessors and miracle-workers; the different ways that saints were honoured and their help solicited; the devotion for relics, sacred sites and images; the miracles expected from the saints.
Central to the project is a searchable database, on which all the evidence for the cult of saints will be collected, presented (in its original languages and English translation), and succinctly discussed, whether in Armenian, Coptic, Georgian, Greek, Latin or Syriac. Towards the end of the project this database will be made freely available on line.

The purpose of this website is to provide a full collection of links to on-line databases, books, Phds, and articles on late antique and early medieval inscriptions, covering the period from A.D. 300 to 900. So far there are over 520 such links.
As can be seen from the tags above, the links are organized by region. Please note that the regional bibliographies provided here are limited purely to what is freely available on-line.
The 'New publications' page is intended as a resource to enable those interested to keep track of new publications. By contrast, it is not limited to what is available on-line. Currently it covers the years 2008-2012, and includes c. 200 publications. Scholars are warmly invited to email me with news of their recent relevant publications for inclusion in this list. Similarly, anyone with comments, criticisms, additions or corrections, along with anyone who thinks copyright is being infringed by a link should email me at mark3handley 'at' hotmail 'dot' co 'dot' uk (my email is shown this way to try and avoid generating spam).
A new feature has been added to the site - "Notes on Late Antique and Early Medieval Inscriptions". This will be a page for me to informally-publish short articles. The first such note is now available.
