The Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) Library is the most important archaeological library in the Middle East, which was established during the British Mandate around 1926. It holds an extensive collection of the archaeological and historical research of the Land of Israel and the Levant.
One of our unique collections is a selection of rare books from the 16th-17th centuries, some of which were written by pilgrims to the Holy Land; others were written by explorers or military expeditions. Their pages are filled with road maps, engravings, drawings and descriptions that illuminate Levantine life at the time.
The library welcomes the public.Working hours
