 This dataset provides photographic documentation and structured metadata for ochre rock paintings from the Kokentau mountain range, East Kazakhstan. It includes original photographs, orthophotos, and DStretch-enhanced images of painted panels, organized according to a three-level spatial hierarchy (outcrop – rock shelter – panel).

The data cover a systematically surveyed area of approximately 5 km² corresponding to the sector of the massif with the highest known concentration of painted shelters. While isolated pigment traces may occur beyond the surveyed zone, no comparable concentrations have been identified elsewhere within the massif. The dataset is released under a CC BY 4.0 license and is intended for reuse in archaeological research, digital heritage studies, GIS-based analyses, and computer vision applications.
