The annual In Centro (במרכז) conference, launched in 2018, is the outcome of cooperation between the Central Region of the Israel Antiquities Authorities, the Jacob M. Alcow Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Cultures and the Sonia and Marco Nadler Institute of Archaeology of Tel Aviv University, and, as of 2022, the Martin (Szusz) Department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology of Bar-Ilan University. The aim is to focus on one central theme at each annual conference and to examine it through a spectrum of scholarly approaches and in a cross-periods viewpoint and to consider its manifestation in a variety of cultures and geographical locations. The In Centro series provides proceedings of the conferences, with contributions in English and Hebrew.
