Thirty-one
years ago today John Sanders and I launched the ANE mailing list at the
OI Chicago. It was fun and I learned a lot and made many fast friends.
It was occasionally a Nantucket sleigh-ride but worth every moment The
third iteration remains active today, but most real online interaction
has moved to social media.
AWOL is one of those manifestations
