About the Cyprus Inscriptions Database

Welcome to the searchable online version of The PASP database for the use of scripts on Cyprus. This website contains the complete corpus of inscriptions offered in the print version, The PASP database for the use of scripts on Cyprus, Salamanca: Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca, 1996. (Suplementos a "Minos," num. 13), compiled by Nicolle Hirschfeld.

If this is your first time to the site, you should first consult the introduction to the material, as well as the notes on terms, abbreviations, and subjects employed in the catalogue. Search criteria include place, inscription number, date, type, nature, and material. These criteria are described in detail on the instructional page. You can sort results alphabetically by clicking on the column headers once the results appear.

Following a major upgrade and relaunch of the SMID Online (Studies in Mycenaean Inscriptions and Dialect) database in 2011, the Cyprus Inscriptions Database was similarly upgraded to a custom, build-from-scratch system that features better search capabilities and indexing.
