Over 2,000 years ago, on the crossroads between East and West, stood the cities of ancient Syria. Kings and emperors conquered these places, but the citizens persisted. They celebrated. They voted. They worshipped. They resisted. They minted coins.
Enter SYRIOS: Studying Urban Relationships and Identity over Ancient Syria, a project that aims to bring ancient Syria to modern audiences through a study of coins.
