BIAA: Branch Institute of Archaeology after named A.H. Margulan Digital Library
In May 2010, was officially established a branch of the Institute of
Archaeology after named A.H. Margulan Committee of science, Ministry of
Education and Science RK in Astana. I have a long time ago the idea of
creating such a structure in Astana, this time it was supported by the
Minister. In my plan, branch in Astana should to give a new impetus to
the development of archeology at a time when the country is a real
process of transition to fundamentally new forms of organization and
funding of research activities, as well as contribute to the training of
highly qualified specialists. I believe that the development of the
fundamental areas of archeology, despite the emergence of various
regional centers, institutes, with some universities and a large number
of specialized commercial entities (LLC, NGOs, etc.), should remain the
prerogative of research institutions (and their subsidiaries in
different cities) with "academic" tradition of the organization of the
scientific process.
At this stage of the activity branch will
naturally seek to expand the field of research in the various regions of
the country and accumulate documented to date archaeological sources
for development on the basis of their theoretical and methodological
problems in the study of ancient and medieval history of the country in
accordance with the realities of our time and the needs of paradigm of
nation-state and the public consciousness.
