Working on a long-term flotation project for the ancient Philistine site of Ashkelon, Israel, I have come across numerous fingerprints, on clay, in fired ceramics, and on fragments from bread ovens which had been laid in coils before firing. Wonder if there is a world archive for ancient fingerprints.
