Since its founding in 2014, AJR has explored the ancient and late antique landscape, focusing upon the literature, language, and culture of these imperial contexts.
AJR further believes in the power of collaboration between scholars across fields and geographic centers. Parallel projects can and do illuminate the contours of life in antiquity, and comparative analysis provides a better understanding of shared historical and geographic space. This site joins biblical studies and religious studies, historians and classicists together in a joint inquiry into the ancient world.
